Meet our latest local mover & shaker..the charming and always dapper, Danny Fazio.  Danny is the Brand and Design Director at the Waldorf Hotel, one of East Van’s coolest attractions, and one of our favourite local hangouts.  We love you Danny!

Describe your job/what you do at The Waldorf.

The Waldorf is a heritage hotel in East Vancouver that has been converted into an arts and entertainment hub.  I’m the Brand + Design Director, so that means I manage all the visual touch points for the Hotel and the events we throw.

How did you initially get interested in graphic design?  What are some memorable projects you have worked on?

I got into graphic design through music, I started playing in punk bands when I was 13 (I was the guy in the band that was in charge of record covers and posters).  After I got tired of playing, the interest in design stayed with me.  Design has led me to get involved in some fun and interesting projects, including:  founding a t-shirt company (Bang-On), being the creative director at a magazine (ION), and opening an art gallery (107 Shaw Gallery in Toronto).

When you’re not working at the Waldorf, where can we find you?

You can find me…hanging at the Waldorf, ’cause there is so much amazing stuff happening here all the time, I can’t leave.
